Punk rock originated in the 70's as a raucous, guerilla take-over against mainstream popular culture music. Rock ensambles alike Green Day, the Offspring, and Rancid helped bring punk back in the mid-1990's. This time the blend of fast, upfront rock music with melodic popular melodies stayed on radio and MTV. Today, self-styled pop punk is a key part in the sphere of chart music. These 10 albums are fine starting points to get to know pop punk.

1. blink-182 - Enema of the State

In blink-182's endless endeavour to diminish all adults in the vicinity, this record album shed light upon a lady clothed as an enema au pair on the booklet. The punk pop on the record is youthful and catchy including the massive hit single “Adam's Song.”

2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

Girls perform punk, as well, and this song is an abundant evidence of the fact. The group modeled after the 1st punk band Ramones in NY with each member going by the name Donna. Download Pressure to listen to it.

3. Good Charlotte - Young and the Hopeless

A band from Waldorf Good Charlotte with Paul Thomas got into the top ten of the popular music album chart. It is full with tales of college and difficult fathers. The smashing #1 song is “Lifestyles Of the Rich and Famous.”

4. Green Day - Jesus of Suburbia

After declining from their 90's fleeting surge of popularity, Green Day declined from live performances to put together punk's first rock opera. Although the American punk band was anxious about their fan's attitude to Letterbomb, it turned out to be an American punk rock classic topping the charts and gaining a Grammy award for Best Rock Album of 2004.

5. The Lemonheads - Ceiling Fan in My Spoon

The Lemonheads' lead singer Evan Griffith Dando is the only punk performer to be known as a real teenager dream-boy. By the way the rock band wrote down some splendid music, too, including “Ceiling Fan in My Spoon”, “Download Paramore” and “Rest Assured” on this album.

6. The Offspring - Smash

Offspring a highly influential American rock band from Garden Grove, California were one of the devoted punk renascence bands from the mid-90's. Time and again their music melted with Blues rock and metal, but their best music is pure punk. “Session” and “Self Esteem” are far beyond what is usual on this DVD.

7. Rancid - Avenues and Alleyways

Rancid sounds a lot like late 70's classic punk as the Clash. They also incorporate the of pop punk in much of their albums.

8. Simple Plan - Still Not Getting Any…

This group from Canada showed up in the public eye in October with their record album When I'm With You. This second record album is even better and contains the hit single “Addicted.”

9. Sum 41 - All Killer No Filler

The single “All She's Got” helped catapult this record album into the top 20. Sum 41 implant intelligent humor into much of their music. Crushcrushcrush Download to get an impression of what we are talking about.

10. Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album)

Despite the fact that they are esteemed as grandfathers of the anti-establishment rock music genre, Weezer's records are also true punk pop in style. “Undone - The Sweater Song” was their 1st hit and then a video putting the rock band in a TV episode stimulated to make the single even bit more popular.
